When it comes to parenting, it involves numerous things. Parenting is an art which is not at all easy. Many times, parenting is not given as much importance by parents. This often spoils the children and the worst part is that when they grow old, the habits are already deeply inculcated in the child’s mind and at that time it becomes very difficult or even impossible to change the frame of the mind and bring the child back on track. That is why parenting should be given very much importance because upbringing of the child in the right manner matters a lot and counts for an entire lifetime.

One of the most important aspects of parenting is disciplining kids. Children firstly do not have any ideas or mind frames or thoughts of their own. So it becomes the parent’s responsibility to inculcate the right ideas during the starting phase of the life of the child. Thus putting a proper and a strict discipline to your children becomes very much important in the initial stages. Now, disciplining involves many things like making sure that the child respects his or her tutors in the right way, whether the child can control his emotions and anger wherever and whenever required, whether any punishments need to given for a certain kind of the child’s behavior, whether the child is too possessive of a certain hobby or a thing which he or she likes to do, whether the child talks or properly reacts to remarks made by people, whether the child only responds when he or she is angry, whether the child able to adjust in joint families where they are many people around and the child can feel neglected at times, getting to know whether are you able to satisfy all needs of your child, specially if you are the single parent, whether he or she interacts with people in the right manner, whether the child is stubborn or too naughty, whether the child is slow in grasping things, whether the child is dominating, whether the child is wearing the right clothes or whether he or she has a proper dress sense, whether the child is able to protect himself from any dangers, whether you and your child are properly bonded with each other, getting to know whether the mother is able to devote a good amount of time with the child or not, specially if she is working for long hours, whether the child is polite, whether the child shows any signs of mood swings or behavioral changes, whether the child is getting spoilt by too much love or pampering which is not really needed at times, whether your child sleeps properly and at the right time, whether the child has any hobby or any personal likes or dislikes, whether the child respects his or her grand parents, whether the child maintains a proper hygiene, whether the child is too obsessed by things like TV or for that matter, some hot favorites, does your child spend quality time developing his or her own creativity, does your child accept negativity in the right manner, like when you say “no” for something to the child, whether the child realizes the importance of time, whether the child is able to control his temper, whether the child realizes the importance of working hard, whether the child is obedient, whether the child involves himself in discussions right for his age, whether you hit your child or whether the child is getting spoilt.

For example, if the child is very much hyperactive, you should check for a disorder which is commonly known as ADHS or Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. You need to identify the causes of the same and the treatment for the same, as a parent.

You also need to watch out for children, if they use abusive language. Perhaps, they are watching some programs on the TV that they should not be watching at their age. They might feel neglected at times. For this, you, as a parent, need to spend some time with your kid and avoid using bad words or fights in front of them.

If the child is not having proper table manners, like if they are just pushing the food inside the mouth without any decency, you, as parent, need to teach them the right way to eat, whether it is with their hands or by the use of forks and knives. You need to demonstrate the importance of table manners and cleanliness to your kid.

If your child is not greeting people properly of if he or she is rude at times, you need to teach him or her the importance of saying ”thank you” or “sorry”. You need to be good hosts yourselves for them to learn things from you. You also need to teach your child the importance of how to behave properly in a party or in front of many people.

If your child is not doing his or her homework, then probably he or she is getting neglected by you. So as a parent, it becomes your duty to teach the child how to do the same, in case the child is finding it difficult to do it on his own. At the same time, it is also important to teach your child about the consequences of not completing homework on time.

If your child does not help you in your house hold work, then you must not pamper them too much or just leave it like that, without saying anything to them. You need to tell them the importance of self help and being responsible in carrying out their own tasks properly, without any one’s help. Children normally don’t take this positively. But it is your duty to convey the same to you children in the right manner without creating any tiffs between you and them.

In short, parenting in not an easy task if you really want your child to go ahead and do some thing in life.

With so many different prams, buggies, pushchairs & strollers to choose from, just how do you pick the right one? There are hundreds of makes & models, and then each one of these comes in different styles, themes & colours with a range of different accessories. . . confused already, right?

First things first, you need to decide what your needs are. Prams are built with many different features to satisfy these needs, so you can quickly eliminate many of the prams by simply knowing what you require. You could ask the following questions:

- Are you having twins (or triplets)?
- Are you planning to have more children? Will they be using this pram?
- Will you use the pram while shopping? Do you need space to put your bags?
- Where will you store the pram? Is there much space?

The answers to these questions will likely leave less than half to choose from.

If you are having twins or more, you are going to need a pram that accomodates more than one child. You will just need to decide whether you want your babies in front of one another or side-by-side. If you spend a lot of time in shopping centres & supermarkets, the side-by-side models can be cumbersome and difficult to maneuver down narrow aisles.

If you will be putting the pram in a car, you will definately want to measure the size of the pram when folded to make sure it fits into your boot. If you are going to be using public transport, you need to think about the size and portability of your pram. There is very limited storage space on trains & buses. You wouldn't want a pram that is too heavy and/or complicated to fold & unfold.

Do you intend on your child using the pram from birth? If so, you need to make sure it is suitable. Usually prams like this can lie fully flat. Will your child be using the pram up to a toddler? If so, you will need to check the maximum weight.

Other things to consider are the security of the pram & the comfort. You will want a pram the has a harness & a brake lock. Suspension will make for a more pleasant ride for your baby.

Finally, do you want to buy new, or second hand? You can save a lot of money by buying a second-hand pram, so if you are on a budget, you could get a very nice second-hand pram with good features for the same price as a brand new basic pram. The main thing to remember here is to check the pram thoroughly when buying second-hand. Make sure it is secure in every position, check the brakes & security features. Obviously, you will want to check for stains too - but these are not as important as making sure it is safe & reliable - it can always be washed.

So hopefully, by considering these questions, you will have a better idea on the pram you want to buy. It is a big decision, as you will be using the pram weekly (if not daily) for years to come. Make sure you do your research & make sure you shop around. There are plenty of good deals out there - don't just go for the first one you find!

To help kids grow tall naturally, it is important for parents to know the significance of nutrition, sleep and regular exercise. Yes, exercise will help kids grow tall because their bones and muscles are still not fully developed. It is during this period of a kid's life that parents should be most attentive because this is when their growth potential is at its peak. Taking advantage of this opportunity can really make a difference to help kids grow tall.

Knowing the proper exercises is important. Stretching exercises are ideal if you want to help kids grow tall naturally because it extends the spine and prevents it from contracting caused by the downward pressure from the head and gravity. It will also help develop the bones, joints, and the muscles. Although results may vary, applying the right stretches will give a person 6 to 8 inches more in height. Stretching will also give your child additional energy throughout the day. Observe him become more active and enthusiastic. Stretching exercises will also help improve your kid's appetite and develop a good sleeping habit.

Stretching is also good for the kids because it takes only 20 minutes a day and is fun. It is not painful but should be done consistently. They will never feel like working or doing something they don't want. Discipline is the key to make it effective. Develop a daily stretching routine and help your child reach the maximum growth potential.

There are a lot of stretching exercises that we can learn from videos, books, and even from tutorials that help kids grow tall. But the exercises that we should focus on are the ones that stretch the spine and joints. Spine stretching can be done in several ways. The most common and probably the easiest is hanging. All you need to do is to find an overhead bar, branch, or basically anything that you can hang from. Grab hold of it and hang for 20 seconds or as long as you can. This exercise alone can help kids grow tall as it targets the spine. Just by developing and making the cartilage discs in your spine healthy will add 3 inches.

We all notice athletes, especially basketball players, have long arms, legs and body. This is because they stretch regularly. They perform stretching routines before games and practices. Athletes were not born to be 6'5" or 6'7" tall, but because of regular stretching, they acquire several more inches. Imagine your son to be the next Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan.

We also see models on TV and magazine covers that have long and sexy body. This is also the result of daily stretching and yoga. Yoga is just a variation of stretching. The aim is to relax the body while stretching. Models develop their body because of sleeping at least 8 hours a day and going to gym. The average female model is 5'10" which is 7 inches taller than an average American woman. Don't you just wish your daughter to be one of the next Victoria Secret's models like Miranda Kerr or Alessandra Ambrosio?

My ma at one time narrated to me that when she gave birth to me it was the most blessed, most unforgettable day of her whole life. Silly as it may seem but we incessantly make our mums do stuff for us prior like our laundry, fix up after us and thinking about it nowadays made me feel bad on how thoughtless we were before. Growing up seeing my mother juggle several things simultaneously had me considering of never desiring to become a mum in the future. I mean, who would want to have a round-the-clock job with no break times, day-offs, vacations and worst, a delayed wage? And day in and day out you have to handle hard-headed youngsters and endless household tasks. But what is the real essence of being a mother? What characteristics do we have to possess to be addressed as a mommy? And why are they so great even to the point of permitting them a special occasion to wit, making us go nuts over what to impart as Mothers Day Gifts? Questions such as the latter are what kept pestering me because I did not know the perfect response. Fortuitously, the good heavens above distorted my luck and changed the tides and eventually had me trave to the other side of maternal fear. And these are some of the wonderful stuff I have determined on my journey of being a mother. A sure way to make you kids stop crying is to tell them "Its okay, Mom's here"; Mothers have the only pretty face in existence; When you hear the quote "Mother Knows Best" is equivalent to the phrase "I told you so" or you have to have your mom's approval on everything specially your choice of women or men in your life. Most of all, being a mom means being the sole light in the household when there is dark, a source of happiness when there is sadness, where hope comes from when there is hopelessness, the ultimate source of love. A bundle of emotions comes with motherhood that defies all known reason. Being a mother means giving life to your kids, teach them things, let them know right from wrong, giving them freedom to live their lives but not living it for your children, not learning it for them, not deciding it for them but in the end be accountable for them. Supporting your children in every path they take even though its the least path you would like them to take. Because being a mother is to always be there even if it hurts. Because the truth is, once a mother, always a mother. So what does it take to become a mother? It takes unbelievable and immeasurable courage. One other thing that makes most mothers special is their ability to take the place of all other people or in other words being in their shoes. Therefore it is extremely important for them to be commemorated because they are the ones that brought us into this world and on top of that gave up theirs. I already know this because of a very wonderful person in my life, my mother. Now that I am a mother my self, the best part of my life is in fact my children who values me and I will love them wholeheartedly forever.

When you're considering the safety of your home, don't forget to protect your children. Not only will you need to protect them from people who might want to harm them, but you also need to prevent accidents or other situations where your children might get into trouble all by themselves.

A night light can help your child see in the dark, so that they don't stumble if they need to get up in the night. Many children also prefer a night light so that their room isn't completely dark at night. These lights can be placed in the bedroom, hallway, or bathroom to provide safety during the night.

A camera or baby monitor can help you watch them during the night. This can ensure that they don't do anything they aren't supposed to, and also help you determine what's going on in their room if you hear a loud noise. Baby monitors aren't just useful for babies in cribs, but also for any young child's room.

If you have young children, chances are good that you understand the need to use child safety products around the home. Cabinet latches or locks, outlet plugs, doorknob guards, and pool alarms can make sure that they can't go anywhere dangerous. You may not realize it, but cabinets, outlets, and bathrooms harbor plenty of dangers for young children. Pool alarms are an often overlooked child safety device, but they are critical if you have a pool, as they will alert you to anyone that has fallen in the pool or is trying to swim. These are a must-have for your toddlers. Baby-proofing your home should be done before they start crawling, and should remain in place until you are sure that they are old enough to keep themselves safe.

Besides these devices to keep your home safe for children, you also need to remember to protect your children against anyone who may enter your home uninvited. The camera can help you see what is happening, but you also need to make sure your children are protected without you immediately coming to their aid. Personal alarms are small alarms that can be activated by children; when the switch is flipped, a loud noise will sound. These can also be taken with you to crowded places like malls or amusement parks to provide additional safety.

Contact alarms can be placed on doors and windows, along with safety beams on the floor. They will make a loud noise when movement is detected. Besides protecting your home from anyone trying to come in, they will alert you to children trying to leave the home at night.

Don't forget to teach your children about safety. What you tell them should be age-appropriate, and include plans for fires, earthquakes, and other emergencies as well as what to do if they think someone is trying to break in. When teaching your kids about safety, try not to scare them, but make sure that they know what to do in case of emergencies of any kind. Teach young kids how to dial 911, and how to avoid dangerous situations when you are out in public.

Have you ever thought of running your own business? If you have you probably didn’t think it possible until you finish school or college. Well you don’t need to finish school to start your own business, nor do you need to finish college. You can have a part time business that you can manage in your own free time, and that will give you the greatest experience that you can use along with college education to make real profits in the future.

You want to start your own business and become a young entrepreneur, well there are a few things to know before you get started. First you need an idea for your new business, and you can get an idea from your life, from your friends, previous experiences or some good old fashioned research using Internet or library. When narrowing down your ideas think about the things that may benefit you, like what do you like to do, do you have any technical skills and how much time do you need for a successful business. Once you figure out what you want to do you need to do some research. Find out if there is a need for the service you will provide, what is your competition and is your product better, make sure you think through every aspect of your business.

All that leads to creating a good business plan which every company needs in order to succeed. But the most important part of business plan is financing, and that is not so easy to come by. First thing you need to do is put everything in writing, do a research on how much that business of yours will cost to get you started. Once you get a number you can consider a way of funding your business. You may be able to pull it off from your own money, or maybe loan from your family or friends. And if that is not an option you can always go to the bank and ask for a loan. But when asking for loans there are several things to keep in mind. Think business; get only the amount you need with the fastest repay time, in order to avoid high interest. And of course that leaves you with knowing the law and legal parts of owning a business. That may be the hardest part, as you need to keep your books in order, pay taxes and keep everything under control. But there is also a way to do that easily, everything can be done easily with a good preparation. You just need to inform yourself.

Once you take care of all that you are a new businessman, a young entrepreneur. For any information’s necessary and some guidance you can check online government sites that help and inform new entrepreneurs of all things needed to start and maintain their new business. Also you can find a lot of useful tips and ideas for starting your new business, all you need is a good will and some little bit of time.

For your baby, breast feeding is the most important thing at a certain age. Ideally you should not ever have to deny the breast feeding to her when directly asking for it. She is quite incapable of understanding why you are suddenly refusing her, and may feel that you are refusing not just the breast feeding, but closeness too. You should not have to suffer the physical discomfort of overfull breasts, either.

Take it slowly and your baby's breast feeding will usually adapt without problems. If, for example, she now enjoys real food at lunch-time and only sucks cursorily after it, you might decide to offer milk from a cup instead of breast feeding her, and to whiz her straight from her highchair to her buggy for an after-lunch walk by way of distraction.

By the time you get back, it will no longer be a time of day when she is used to nursing and she will probably have forgotten that she did not nurse when it was. On this new regime your breasts will get less stimulation and although you might feel uncomfortably full on the first few occasions, your breasts will adjust and make less milk within two or three days. If you also offer your baby milk from a cup as well as solid food at her other meals, and then let her suck as much as she wants at the end of the meal, she will gradually take less and less when it is breast feeding time. Over a few weeks she will probably reach a point where she is taking only a token few sucks in the morning and a comfort feed at her bedtime. That night-time session will probably be the last your baby will willingly give up, remaining part of your cuddly bedtime ritual for months to come. As long as for your baby, breast feeding is not that important for her to get herself to sleep, your baby may surprise you by abandoning it of her own accord somewhere nearer to a year than 18 months old.

Of course you do not have to leave it to your baby to decide when to give up that last feed. Even if she is perfectly capable of managing without sucking during the day, your baby may not be comfortably ready to do without any at all and may especially miss sucking for comfort at bedtime.

When your child throws a temper tantrum it can be difficult and frustrating to deal with. Sometimes a temper tantrum is unavoidable, but if possible it is always best to head the tantrum off before it starts; and here are some ideas that may help.

1. Divert the Child's Attention
If you want to see a well-behaved child, just look for an attentive parent. Frequently tantrums occur because a child is hungry, tired or just plain bored. Often the tantrum is just a child's way of asking for some attention. So if you are always one step ahead of the child with some shiny thing to distract bad behavior, then you will rarely see a tantrum. How you redirect your child's attention depends on their age. While a slightly older child may be distracted with conversation or a game, a younger child may literally need a "shiny thing" like a toy or treat.

2. Stock Your Bag
It is always a good idea to have an arsenal of small toys on hand for just this purpose. That way if you find yourself in a situation where your child is becoming restless and you cannot simply get up and leave, then you have something that you can use as a distraction. Be aware though, that the distraction will only last for a while, and you are going to have to address the underlying need, lunch and a nap, soon. So keep key rings, calculators, tiny note pad and pen in your purse along with a snack bar in your bag to use when you get caught with a tired child and not toys.

3. Snacks are Lifesavers
Food is one of the all time best distractions in the world, and sometimes it is even the underlying cause for the growing irritability. If you always have some healthy snacks like raisins, cheerios, crackers, pretzels, granola bars or fruit chews, you can keep your child happy and a having a tantrum will never even enter their mind.

4. It is All About Choices
Sometimes a tantrum is a child's way of wielding power. If they do not want to do something, they may dig their heels in, and the battle is on. So you may want to always offer them a choice of two different things to let them feel like they have a choice in their world. For example, instead of telling them that it is bath time, you may simply ask if they would prefer a bubble bath or bath crayons this evening. By giving them a choice as to how they will take their bath, the bath suddenly becomes their idea.

5. Routines Help Build Habits
Back to the well behaved child and the attentive parent. This does not mean that the parent gives the child everything that they want. It means that the parent knows what a small child needs, and they provide it for the child. For example, if a child has a routine and structure to his life, there is certain comfort in that. Humans are creatures of habit, and frequently a child behaves well simply because they are in the habit of behaving well. By sticking to a schedule, a parent also ensures that a child has adequate food and rest, and all of these things help make a happy child. Happy children do not have tantrums.

Until children are grown enough to be restrained properly with seatbelts, they should continue riding in booster seats to increase safety.

Booster seats are meant to hold children securely in place, so that there is a minimum of movement or jostling if an accident were to occur. This helps prevent injuries and minimize the impact of a crash, however it is imperative that the right quality booster seat be chosen. Unfortunately, some booster seats are not of good quality, malfunction, and can actually put your child at an increased risk of serious injury should an accident occur.

Recently, the second list of the worst and best booster seats for children has been released by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. While the institute had 60 to consider, it chose 15 as good and best bets when it comes to protecting your child. Among the considerations to be included in these lists are the protection the booster seat offers, fit, and proper buckling of seat belts. It should also be comfortable so that children are not tempted to place the shoulder belt under or behind their arms.

The 15 Best Bets and Good Bets according to the IIHS after testing at its vehicle research center are as follows:

Good Bets

1. Britax Parkway SG
2. Combi Kobuk
3. Evenflo Symphony 65
4. Graco TurboBooster
5. Graco TurboBooster
6. Maxi-Cosi Rodi

The Best Bets, according to IIHS:

1. Britax Frontier
2. Clek Oobr
3. Combi Dakota
4. Cosco Juvenile Pronto
5. Eddie Bauer Auto Booster
6. Evenflo Big Kid Amp
7. Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR
8. Recaro Vivo
9. Recaro Young Sport

The IIHS also compiled a list of booster seats that are not recommended, which includes 11 that are found to provide a poor fit. The results:

1. Alpha Omega
2. Alpha Omega Elite
3. Alpha Omega Luxe Echelon
4. Combi Kobuk
5. Eddie Bauer Deluxe
6. Eddie Bauer Deluxe 3-in-1
7. Evenflo Express
8. Evenflo Sightseer
9. Harmony Secure Comfort Deluxe
10. Safety 1st All-in-one
11. Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite

It is important to note that the choices in the "not recommended" list are there because they do not provide a good fit, not because they are defective. They have been placed in this category because of the fact that the seatbelt does not fit as well as the models listed in the Good and Best bets. If you have one of the models listed in the not recommended list, you are urged not to discard it. Riding in an ill-fitting booster seat provides more protection than not using one at all.

Resistance is an act of resisting cooperation with someone to do something like duties and responsibilities. This does not occur with adults only but also with children. Resistance caused by children is eventually due to the fact that they are not prepared to be potty trained. So if you’re a parent or parents you better take this down because it will undeniably help you in overcoming potty training resistance.

There are reasons for potty training resistance and these include:

•being scared to sit on top of the potty or experiencing trauma about the potty idea

•being constipated or experiencing painful bowel movement

•being scared of the sound of the flushing toilet

•enjoying the negative attention

•being forced

•being stubborn and superior over his or her parents

•being punished severely for non-compliance with the potty training

•being trained inconsistently and with different people

Potty training resistance is unpredictable. Why did I say so? For one, children have mood swings. One day they may submit to your requests and the next day they will refuse to give in. This is very frustrating but do not blame them. This is normal. All parents go through it and the only remedy is understanding, patience and discontinuing the potty training. You have to be patient with your child for him or her to be able to realize that he or she somehow needs to learn to potty no matter what. You also have to be understanding with your child’s capability and readiness to go to the potty.

Although the child refuses many times and even goes ballistic on going to the potty, give it a moment to discontinue the training and rest the issue then try it again next month or so. This will give you and your child some time to think and recover from the traumatic incident that he or she had from the past regarding the training. Perhaps after this break your child will be willing to be trained or to go to the potty. The discontinuity of potty training is most applicable to children who are below ages 3 to 3 ½.

In overcoming this resistance, you have to be ready to face delays. Resistance causes delay. The children will think of strategies to distract the process of potty training, which would result to delay. This usually occurs because the children are trying to tell you that they are not yet ready to begin the potty training.

Ways for overcoming training resistance include:

•giving a reward or encouraging

•making your child wear underwear to make him get used to no diapers

•making your child sit on the potty without anything else to do as a daily routine

•avoiding severe punishment whether physical or verbal abuse

I hope all these will help you to overcome training resistance. These are essential to a child’s progress but prioritize your child’s feelings and behavior to assure a healthy growth and development.
